This single is inspired by The Leap Manifesto (now called The Leap) and the words of political titan Naomi Klein in her rallying book ‘No Is Not Enough’. At the time of penning the song, Blythe was finishing Klein’s book and reeling from the release of the IPCC’s 2018 special report. A landmark report, it detailed like never before the extent of the climate and ecological crisis driven by human systems. Two years on it now seems fitting for Mesadorm to make their song public in the midst of a global pandemic that has exposed the weakness and injustice of these systems yet again. The Leap Manifesto - which was so inspiring to Pepino that she wrote the song immediately - makes it clear that these multiple crises are all part of the same story. And the message is joyous! There is a much more beautiful world waiting for us to Leap to, if we rewild our imaginations and join together to believe in it. As the world slowly reacts to the lessons and tragedy of Covid-19 we have the chance to take that Leap now. More info at Theleap.org
